Can definitely recommend doing the Communist Walking Tour. I found it interesting when I was there and it'll pass a few hours. The Statue Park is worth the trip too.

Lots to do and see. Opinions on here are likely to be divided on where to stay. Public transport is excellent so provided you are near a metro line it's not going to matter where you stay. For the buzz and closeness to the centre go Pest side. For a quieter vibe stay on the Buda side. We stayed in the art'otel facing the Danube but there are lots to choose from. There are some really nice apartment rentals in the centre too which might be an option.

Baths are a must. Gellert Baths is one of the big ones but there are others. Some open late and some have what can only be described as pool parties.

Rudas Baths offer, or did offer, dinner & bath packages. Baths, leisure pool & rooftop hot tub before or after dinner.

River cruise, day or night & with or without food is well worth doing.

Buda Castle, Gellert Hill, Fishermans Bastion & Mattias Church, Hosptial in the Rock, caves & wine cellars on the Buda side.

Museums. Terror House. Further out there's the statue park mentioned above & a previous thread mentioned a firing range outside the city too.
