Laminate to saddle board, advice

    I need to bridge this gap between the laminate floor and saddle board, any ideas on whats best to use?

    The gap is a decent 35mm on the wider side down to 20mm on the other, theres a few mm between the flooring and the door but it narrows over near the frame with the doors hinges

    Gap looks too big for above.

    For me I'd lift the saddle. Chop it in half lengthwise, replace and install another length of flooring to bring it flush to the newly chopped saddle.

    This will bridge the gap give you enough board to make it sit well and remove any drops on the other side of the saddle.

    Looks like you are going to have a gap between the wall and your last board beyond the saddle board anyway?

    I'd just rip another board to fit.

    Though, whats on the other side of the door? If its a different surface normally you would split the board so that when the door is closed the joint is hidden..

    OP is sort of screwed with the full saddle in place and the carpet on the other side of the door 2nd pic). OP, did you set the boards square as greebo points out the runoff? Or is the frame just skewed? Either way, listers suggestion is a possible runner but you’d be cutting the saddle at its highest point and a step down joiner would look a bit naff. Removing the saddle completely and adding board to the carpet is out too. Assuming the exposed side of the laminate still has the groove side intact, I’d be inclined to rip a board to fill the gap and finish with a 90deg coloured adhesive finishing strip butted to the edge of the saddle and covering your cut on the room side, leaving the saddle as is. The inch or 2 before the saddle will get very little footfall.
