    Hi,

I have a Citroen c3 2006 to scrap and I’m am wondering how to go about it.

Do I just bring it to a scrap yard, what documents do I need to bring

Would I get much for it

Do you know of any good scrap yards in co mayo region

    Any help would be grateful

    Kind regards

Dempseys on the Bonniconlon Rd, Ballina are fairly big, and seem to collect from all over. 09645412
Last car I scrapped I got nothing for
Log book was all that was needed, you get a destruction cert from them

To legally dispose of an end of life car, you have to bring it to an Authorised Treatment Facility, they give you a certificate of destruction and will inform Shannon that the car has been scrapped. Bring the registration cert. to prove that you own the car.

Including Dempseys in Ballina (mentioned above), there are six ATFs in Co. Mayo ...

Clearway in sligo will most likely pay the best but you'd have the hassle of getting it there.

For just the one car you're as well off going to the nearest scrap yard.

+1 Clearway in Sligo is listed as an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF).

For just the one car you're as well off going to the nearest scrap yard authorised treatment facility.

    FYP

If you get rid of your car in any old 'scrap yard', you have no control over what happens to it afterwards. It may get patched up and sold to a boy racer. In which case, one or both of the following will probably happen...

    1. You'll start getting notices in the post about M50 tolls and/or speeding fines.

    2. The Gardai will arrive on your doorstep some night, asking if you are the registered owner of a car that was recently involved in a hit and run.

Bring it to an ATF and your ass is covered.

Ya Atf is the only job. Force of habit on my part calling them scrap yards

    Sorry for another silly question

Has anyone used the person who advertised on donedeal to scrap a car

I would suggest to only use an Authorised Treatment Facility like you were suggested several times already.
    Don't trust anyone else.
