Cheapest way to replace a VW 2007 Golf key fob?

I have a (mostly) working key fob, the key ring part is missing so I cannot attach it to my keys, and the battery seems to need replacing more often than I guess is normal. At the moment it will sometimes lock the car but almost never unlocks it - this has happened before and replacing the battery fixed this, just always found it strange both unlock and lock would not fail at the same time.

Anyway, I just had the key fob open to put in a new battery, and see if there is anywhere I could drill a small hole to attach a key ring but there does not seem to be anywhere that would not risk damaging it.

I asked about a replacement at a dealer and I think it was in excess of €150, and a local mechanic said he knew a guy that could do it for around €50.

Is there somewhere in Dublin that will do it for cheaper than this, or better yet, where could I order a replacement fob that I could just fit the board and key into myself?
