    Hi,

Just wondered roughly how much I would be owed back. I have moved to USA.

Earned 35k a year and finished work end of July. My salary which was monthly was been taxed on the basis I was working for the full year.

    Thanks

Assuming that you're single, here's what my calculator shows:

    Gross PAYE due to end of July: €20417 x 20% = 4083
    Less: Tax credits: €3300 x 7/12 = 1925 (leaving 1375 unclaimed tax credits)
    Net tax deducted: 2158

You should be able to reclaim the unclaimed tax credits of €1375.

Additionally, you should be able to reclaim some USC.
My calculator shows total USC deducted in the period to end of July would be €523.82 (€74.83 per month for monthly income of €2917) but based on the actual earnings of €20417 for the year the liability should be €241.72 (calculated as €12012 @ .5% + €7862 @ 2% + €543 @ 4.5%). Therefore, you can reclaim the difference between €523.82 - €241.72= €282.10.

Summary: PAYE back of €1375 and USC back of €282 = total back of €1657
