VUELTA 2019 ROUTE STAGE 5: L’ELIANA – JAVALAMBRE

Its going to be very difficult for Nico to hold on to Red
Quintana is like a new filly and Uran and EF I think would love the jersey

Nico's best bet is if someone like Chaves or Podgcar or even Roglic won
Or If Valverde goes then Quitana cant follow and same if Higuita goes then Uran cant follow
Cant see Higuita been given the green light if Uran wants to win and take Red ? But maybe Uran wants to to be patient ..he did ride a hard Tour and may want to pace himself

On the other hand i think Valverde will go for the stage even though Quintana can take red ..Quintana is leaving and also has plenty to time to win the race. Valverde is very suited to the stage

Sunweb are supporting Kelderman for GC so he wont be of help to Nico as he will ride his own race

If it were 2013 or 2015 then Nico would hold imo but at 35 its harder

but not impossible ..alot depends on who attacks and who sits back

The way this year has gone so far after 4 days I expect this to be all over the place. What about Aru? I'd love to see him go well, not that i'm a super fan but after his trials in recent years I'd sooner see him go well than Kelderman.

I don't think Nico will be bale to keep the jersey, but we know that he will give it 100% in trying to do so

It's the first time that this climb is being used in the Vuelta... I wonder if many of the riders have ridden it before? That could be a big advantage

Three man break have +9 minutes at this stage. UAE doing the pulling on the front now.

The Burgos BH kit is fantastic.

Burgos have been in every breakaway so far yeah? It's a nice jersey alright

Yeah they seem to want to keep a hold of the polka-dot jersey.

Will Sam go tor the intermediate I wonder? It would signal his intentions regarding the Green jersey.

As suspected, awful days watching. I should have cut the grass instead.

Knew that was coming every one taking it far too handy no one wanting to work.

Enjoyed the end of that, unreal comeback by the winner to get the stage win, almost unbelievable.

Chapeau Nico. A very brave defense of the jersey.

Well done to Nico for keeping the leaders jersey for a few days. Very strong ride from him today, looks like he was stronger than Kelderman today too.

Nico was stronger than so many GC guys today even though he was written off several times by Kirby

Pity he didntt go to a team Sunweb 10 years ago

35 years old and 70 kilos is a massive handicap against MAL , Quintana and co

But he never give up ...has to be proud of that
