Carrying out a renovation to an office unit and change of use to retail. It’s a material change so fire cert is required. The unit is small circa 50sqm, does anyone know a fire cert consultant who would do something this small?

You could call in to your local Fire Station and ask to speak to someone who will advise you.

Generally they won’t offer anyone due to bias and the risk of anything that could go wrong. Also, the fire station guys (fire fighters) generally have no idea about fire carts as they are on the fire fighting side of the operation. You would want to speak to someone on the fire prevention side of things and they are located the Townsend street and the guys that actually deal with inspecting the fire carts during construction are based in civic offices.

*All of this is assuming your in Dublin city, sorry.

If you want to pm me your location I can give a recommendation by PM based on my experience in this area.

It's not all about Dublin only.

You'd be very surprised how well educated local Fire Brigade Chief Officers are and how helpful they can be in advising about fire prevention.
