    Hi All

    I'm looking at buying a 2007 Corolla saloon .

When I rang the seller he told me there are paint issues with that vintage Corolla - would this be correct?

He said there are small spots of rust coming through the paint. Is this a known problem ? I never heard of the like before.

    Thanks
    Barr

Heard of red paint issues on the Avensis of that era where the paint would peal the discolour, not sure if Corolla was also suffering from same problem.

Never heard of paint issues with that generation Corolla.
Go for one that doesn’t have rust coming through the paint.

    What colour is it?

That Solar Red was only used on the Avensis.

It is silver , got some closeup pics of it tonight , seems more like black specks coming through the paintwork.

Is the seller a main dealer or what

If it’s not too far away from you go and see it in person. Stone chips left untreated with produce rust spots after a few years so it may only be that which can happen to any car however if theres rust coming through the paint work then it’s not a good sign and maybe a sign of more bodywork issues to come.

Could have been as a result of a poor damage repair job.

Private seller , the black specks seem to be on most of the car.

Not sure what is up with it but think I'll give it a skip and keep looking.

I don’t think his excuse is valid.
