One of my pet hates used to be seeing POA on dealers adverts.

Have been searching today and saw a new 19 Seat Ateca at what I thought was an incredible price, then see that it's Ex-VRT/VAT.

    https://www.carsireland.ie/2193995

Is this a new trend we are going to see to catch your eye?

Considering these figures are fixed, why not add them on now so buyers know what the car is going to cost them?

That’s unusual. It’s specifically for a disabled driver/passenger who is exempt of VRT and can claim VAT back.

Is there an issue with VRT on some of these petrol VW cars with WLTP emissions?

In Ireland, you cannot quote a price to the PUBLIC if the vat is not included. This goes for everything from a needle to an anchor.

Another thing that seems to be common is when you click into an ad it tells you that the price stated includes "scrappage allowance" of €2k, so the actual price is higher. Very helpful...

Even better there was one garage (Frank Hogan’s in Limerick) which was giving prices based on customer having a trade in worth x amount) which were completely different to their prices in the window and straight deal prices.

Claim for Tax Relief for vehicles Purchased / Acquired for use by People with Disabilities

    It’s catchier than CFTRFVPAFUBPWD

I really really ****ing hate the whole straight deal and trade in prices. It boils my blood so much.
If that's the sticker price, let's work on that number. Not fecking number you pulled out of your arse.
And we are not stupid, we know why dealers doing it. So they can play the whole numbers bingo trying to **** over your trade in.

I don’t mind straight deal prices at all. I welcome them, and they make the whole thing more transparent.
What they’ve done there is something completely different,

    €13000*

    * if you have a trade in worth €2000, the price is €13000

    That’s no more useful than:

    €5000**

**if you have a trade in worth €10000, the price is €5000
