Starting back into Irish income tax system after 7 years away

Just looking for the best way to get the ball rolling on this ....

I've been working in the US for over 7 years and planning a return soon. Would starting back end of the calendar year, say October or November, would that mean that I would spreak my tax free allowance etc over just 2 or 3 months or would I have to register my income for the previous months in the US?

I'm guessing my new employer gets the ball rolling on credit certs etc right?

If you don't already have an online account with Revenue, you should register with Revenue now. Get the ball rolling now and you would be set up by the time you do return to Ireland.

There are changes to how Revenue works from Jan 2019 onwards and now you must register a new employment yourself (you need the new employer's company number for this).
