Add more vents to fascia and soffit

The fascia and soffit (fs) on my house is white pvc over timber sub. The original house has an angled fs while the recent extension fs is square. See photos.

Question. Is it difficult to add further vents to this system? There are very few vents (about one every 3m). I'd like to add more to improve ventillation up in the attic.

I spent today up there pulling back fibreglass and blown Rockwool from the edges where it was blocking out everything and moreorless stuffed into the felt. Horrible job. Since I bought the house a couple of years back, I've always noticed a kinda damp smell whenever I go in the attic and so this work has been on my todo list for ages.

So I just want to know can I pull pieces of the fs pvc cover out and replace them with vented slots?, or can I pull out the extisting vented pieces and drill a few more holes in the timber behind them to increase air flow. If I try and prize a piece out, it seems very reluctant to come. I dont want to do any damage.

    Many thanks for help.

Easily done. You can cut out sections with a jig saw or angle grinder and slot in perforated sections in their place. I've them every meter on mine. Self install. Replaced the old rotten timber stuff last year.

You could put tile vents in either , may be easier?

look into the vents you can drill in.much easier

removeing some soffit can be done but sometimes a pain to get the first section out and the piece back in.

Can you tell me what the sections are called? I can't seem to find anything online and may be using the wrong terms. Many thanks.

    Many thanks for the replies.

Tell me this, when creating a vent, should I drill holes through the timber behind the soffitt?

I ask because I dont think the existing vents do. When I poke into the vent with a wire, I hit timber and cant seem to find any way through.

Yes. Definitely should be open behind the vent

Would it be a good idea to hire an SDS and bore a hole in each gable for a vent? This would allow me to get ventilation up high in attic.

    .
when you cover them with insect mesh, the airflow may not be enough
