I'm confused whether the experiments have to be related to the area of your chosen project, or related to the actual manufacturing of the model. For example, I am making a model of a historic building that's made of limestone and is next to a canal.

Do I do an experiment relating to water/limestone? Like limestone porosity, capillary action in limestone, etc, or do I do experiments related to the materials I'm using to build my model? Like clay on modelling card versus clay on cardboard, or which is glue is better, etc.

    Any help is greatly appreciated
