No idea where to ask this but I'll try here,

Anyone know where to look for outdoors orientated work? Specifically revolving around manual labor like forestry, surveying, site works and maintenance, and that sort of thing.

I once heard of a guy who's job is to hike across the Dublin mountains marking locations on GPS, that's the sort of work I'm interested in.

I have a degree and background in ecology but that's a very hard career to succeed in, have been trying for years now...

I believe that the wicklow mountains national park people employ conservation rangers - might be worth contacting them.

There was a thread over on nature about conservation rangers a few years back: https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=101737828

If you copy the following into Google - Budding Ireland 4 jobs for hardy people who can handle “bad” weather! - it should bring up a blog post.

You don't have to read it but if you scroll on down to the end you'll see that there are some outdoorsy jobs posted and there's also a search box where you can type in a keyword - eg "outdoors" "forest" etc. All the jobs should be up to date.

    Good luck!
