    How-to remove tap ?

This is under sink pic .. dual pipe single kitchen tap. The tap is leaking a bit near bottom sink side.
Just looking for advice how to remove same ..probably perished washer or something ....water mains off.,...loosen the locking bolt ..presumably unscrew the plumbing fittings to pull the sink tap out ?

    Any advice / guidance appreciated

There's a special tool comes with the tap to take that nut off, it's like an open ended socket with butterfly wings for turning by hand.

You can probably pick one up in a DIY shop.

If you're trying to stop the leak you might be able to split that tap open from above and get at the washer while leaving it on the sink, depends on the tap.

Water off (Mains and hot) - open a hot and cold tap upstairs, disconnect the undersink pipes from the push-fit connectors (have a basin or rags there as there will be a little water in the pipes that'll come out) - then you just need to remove that brass nut off the steel bolt. A long box spanner is the easiest way to do it but it looks like you have a bit of space to get an adjustable spanner on it to loosen it.

The just pull the tap out from above.

Is it leaking from the bottom of the spout or the base sitting flush on the sink? (Bottom of spout if fairly common if it's a swivel spout).

https://www.ie.screwfix.com/rothenberger-monoblock-tap-spanner-set.html is the type of tool to remove the nut if you cant get a spanner into it.

Post a pic of the tap. Idioteque asked the question. Swivel type ? If so, likely an o-ring problem. Could be possible to service from above without removing anything underneath. Someof these type have a small retaining screw (removed with a flathead driver) that allows the spout to be removed at the joint.
