A few years ago, ceramic frying pans were all the rage. We used one on holidays and it was brilliant so we bought one. However, once you use it frequently then the non-stick goes.

I suspect that pan is just the same.

Great product, go by the instructions. That way it stays non-stick.

My mother got one about a year ago. Its definitely not non stick any more. How careful she was with it though, I don't know.

can only be used on low or medium heat, so would be no good for myself. I got a Salter brand "pan for life" wok, they have others in the range. It is carbon steel with no nonstick coating, just seasoned, and I am amazed at how non stick it is. Great being able to get it roaring hot and use metal utensils and scrapers.

Metal utensils can rip off seasoning also. They're really just safe for use on stainless basically.

Realistically I've not found anything other than tongs where metal is of any advantage anyway.

Iv had experience with 2 of these at the same time, bought at the same time 1 for me and 1 for mam

I ruined mine in ~6 months by constantly putting in the dishwasher, being a dumb 24 y/o college student i have a wee excuse, it eventually turned into a everything stick pan since the non stick coating was gone, and it then went into the bin on pancake tuesday after a disasterous day

Mam’s one has lasted fine in the 18 months since i bought it for her, since she had the cop not to put it in dishwasher and not wash and scrub it hard, it has lost a bit of its shine but im not sure how that would be kept long term

Bought a tesco non stick since for ~€20 since thats been every bit as good without looking as good

Mine has held up well, but could be seasoned again if there was any issue.

I do "smash burgers" on mine, squashed onto the pan and scrapped off with a wall paper removal tool. I usually cook on very high heats and often have burnt on stuff which was a nightmare to get off stainless, but easily comes off the carbon steel.

Most of my plastic spatulas etc are all burned at the ends from using on hot pans!

I also have a heavy cast iron pan too but it takes ages to heat up, the thin carbon steel is really quick to heat up.
