    Hi Conor's mum

It's mam, not mum. Get off boards.

Well, what exactly did he do?

I mean, if he has changed your headlamp bulb it's hardly rocket science....however, should he have removed the loom, repaired a physical break and reinstalled it without any problem in an hour or less, he may very well be the king of autoelectronics

If I gave exact details of what he did, I could end up doxing myself. Just believe me that he is the Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking combined of auto-electronics.

If he was truly the king of auto electronics

Would he be working in Halfords?

well considering stephen hawking was in a wheelchair and bill gates was only ever a software engineer, I would love to see either of them try and find a bad ground in the main loom of an e39 5 series.

why do I have a feeling that the story involves fitting a stupidly loud 'ripspeed' stereo and some poor people in a suburban housing estate are going to be tortured at midnight by a polo or corsa banging out sh*t eurobeat choooooons for the next while.

Nothing like that at all. Not a sound system.

In fairness to Conor, Yourself, and this Thread it would be much easier to just mention what exactly he did.

    Leave the OP alone.

right now its giving him a reacharound from the back seat while telling him to clean his room in a surprisingly accurate impression of his da's voice and I won't believe it any other way until we're provided more details by the OP.

mods can we get a thread rename to 'conor in halfords, the reacharound master'

He was smart way before he was in the wheelchair. But anyway, he will tell Bill to measure the voltage drop between the positive terminal of the battery and the driver side rear blinker bulb and based on the reading he will pinpoint the bad ground, all of them if there are more. Bill will smile not understanding what just had happen, but he will be happy that while doing this his worth increased by ~10k (Stephen will be able to tell the exact amount).

You have an interesting, albeit rather disturbing, imagination.
