Imagine doing block on flat with EWI. You have a length of wall that wall that goes right up against a boundary garden wall. Are there tricks of the trade to still fit EWI and render? If not how could I detail this?

That was my first thought. How would I close it up and keep out water?

Step back the block on flat enough to fit the required amount of EWI.

I could but I'd lose space so looking for ways to avoid that.

Would filling the void with beads and some sort of flashing be acceptable?

Acceptable? Yes your arch/ Eng should be able to design this to suit and builder make it happen.

Timber frame, insitu concrete, ewi.. it seems like your still researching construction methods?
