Cold water airlock.

I had to turn off the mains due to a leaky washing machine. I fixed the washing machine but during that time the tank in the attic went dry. I have got water in the taps and cold in the kitchen taps but no cold in bathroom taps or toilet cisterns. What’s the best way to fix the airlock?

Garden hose if you have it and open tap and hold it up into the tap spout. I've had to do it a few times and worked everytime
