Apartment gas connection - mixup resulted in taken off grid

Long story but airtricity knocked on my apartment door 1 day few years ago, and deal they sold me seemed good, so I decided to switched over from Bord Gais.
Now I dunno how exactly this mixup happened, but for long time afterwards I couldn’t seem to get the heating working, and eventually found out that Bord Gais had disconnected me from the grid and removed the box thing from outside the apartment block. There was some kind of mix up, and I must have given wrong account closing info to Bord Gais. I dunno who made the mistake, it must have been me.
I’ve tried to get back on the grid, and first step is that you have to get RGI clearance and the outside box reinstalled. When I did this the fella said his monitor was detecting a gas leak, that it could be anywhere from outside to all the pipe way to inside my apartment. And it could be a big job to find and fix that he didn’t want to. So I gave him €50 for his time.
I pay €1400 a year maintenance fee to the mgmt company, however I don’t think any of this is their responsibility to fix. I haven’t even reported it to them as I don’t have funds at the moment to pay for a big job. I got the impression from the RGI fella it could be as much as 5-10k. But I’m at the stage now where I need to get it fixed.
Should I report it to the mgmt company to see if they have an agreed RGI contact, and contact to fix and reinstall the connection?? Or should I try myself again with a different RGI and see if they say same that there is a leak??
Sorry for long post, dunno how it all ended up like this. Damn that airtrucity guy that knocked on my door!!

You can contact your management company and inform them of the problem. They may have a contractor familiar with the complex who may be able to help you.
