Spare tyre size

So I'm checking over the tyres pre-Nct and notice that while the alloys have 225/45/17 tyres the spare wheel in the boot is a steel one size 205/55/16. I never checked when I bought it, was happy it was a full size spare wheel with Bridgestone tyre. Is that any cause for concern? Tks.

I'd be inclined to get a 205/55/16 tyre and fit that instead of the 45 profile, it will be very close to the 225/45 you have now.
Will that spare wheel fit over your brakes?

It won't affect the NCT they don't check spares.

Thanks. But if I needed to use that spare would it work?

Is the car AWD or does it have a limited slip diff?

Sorry, CJ, spotted typo in my original post, the spare is 205/55/16. So that's ok then?!

That has the same rolling diameter as the current wheels.
