Old alloys on newer car (E46 vs E90)

I'm just wondering is there any disadvantage to swapping over the alloys from my older '01 E46 to a newer '07 E90 BMW? I only ask as there are a few of that vintage at a decent price, but they have those horrible (imho) factory wheels which look way too small. I believe they are still 205/55 R16, same as the E46. I've copied in the E46 wheels to the below front wheels, and while I know they are nothing special, I do think they are better looking. So any obvious disadvantages that I'm not thinking of here?

Do they fit in terms of stud pattern and offset.
I'd agree that they are better looking than what is on it.

Pattern matches I believe, but offset is something that I only have a vague awareness of. After some searching I can see that they are different. Not sure how much of a difference it makes in the real world, but any difference is obviously going to change the car handling and therefore that would be an insurance issue I would say, even if you do notify them.

You could correct the offset with spacers but that would be messing to be honest.
Lots of decent wheels around for the e90 that shouldn't cost a lot.

Yeah, I reckon you're right, just not worth the hassle. It does make me think who signs off on designs sometimes, as they are rank.

There is another set that I see on Insignia's, linked below that are also terrible. Hub caps would be better!

They were the bog standard wheels on the E90, they are intentionally rank in the hope that buyers tick the options list to upgrade them to nicer more expensive ones.

They bought for the cheap tax, new reg and the BMW badge in that order. Anything else was incidental to the purchase.

They should have bought top of the range Corollas or something.
Bloody peasants. No clue what they were doing and no idea of their place.
