what are people's thoughts on spreading fertiliser at the moment?
Would it be worth my while throwing out 18-6-12 the coming week? If so, how heavy should I go?
It's for suckies so don't need too much but would like to keep growth going a bit longer all the same...
    OR
Should I not spread fertiliser and spread gran line instead and let them graze that before housing ?
Was planning on spreading gran lime but was going to wait until after the last rotation.
    Any advice appreciated here!

Don't think I would spread 18-6-12, would it contribute to grass tetney, maybe straight nitrogen or pasture swart, last few years there has been great autumn growth so could be a winner.

I wouldn't put out Gran lime now, I'd prefer to use it in spring when you'll get the best return for extra growth with it.

Whatever you decide to spread keep an eye on forecast as looks very wet for the week ahead .

Although I'm OK for grass. The recent weather took me by surprise flooding part of my land. . I was thinking about putting out some urea 13 units an acre. Is this kind of nitrogen OK?. It won't turn the cattle of the grass?

It won't put cattle off grass.
    13 kg is light - I'm doing 30+ kg/acre of urea.

Every kg of grass grown from now on stretches out housing. Management is as important as growing it. A lot depends on your stocking rates as well. No point in growing too much grass and having covers of 2000k in mid October as grazing these can be difficult and you do not want to be baling water

If all else is OK and you can graze out the grass id say blanket spread 40 to 50 units of N early September and leave it at that.

Cattle are currently grazing this land. Is it still OK to go ahead with 30, 40 or 50 units of urea?

I believe it's okay to blanket spread.
    Don't like doing it myself.
Find for some days after, the N coming through the urine leaves small burnt patches on the grass

The earlier you spread, the better the response to the nitrogen is so the more grass you'll have in a month or 6 weeks time.

Same again. You should be getting good recovery on paddocks but 25 units of Blood will boost it. Good growth at present

Just straight urea? No p&k? Lads around me are feeding silage.

Which is better to spread now - UREA or CAN?

Cost wise and given the rather wet month we've had. Urea.
