I am hoping to import a passenger Jeep from uk and convert to a 2 seater commercial , possibly a 2010 x5 or Range Rover, i was looking for information on possible vrt costs as can’t find any at all. I am vat registered.Any help would be appreciated.

I like the Grand Cherokee, especially with the Hemi engines.
    Wranglers are nice too.

Not much on importing for commercial use if you're vat registered, i was looking a few weeks ago and found SFA

Many vehicles now don't comply with the change....

    Huge crack down on it.

I’d be surprised if you found many 2010 X5 or Range Rocers in the UK which were VAT qualifying meaning that you would have increased costs. Additionally, unless you are a TAN holder, the VRT would arise on importation and shy conversion work done in a Ireland would, technically, be irrelevant to the calculation of VRT.

Bring it in. Convert yourself or get a company to do it. Get it weighed certified etc. get SQI form filled out by qualified engineer then bring it in for VRT with SQI and all other docs v5 bit etc to avail of your 13.5% vet or whatever it is.

Contact d&m truck engineering. They did mine last year and will do everything you need.

    Edit. 2 seater conversion only
