    Best described as "Mount And Blade, in Space", Star Sector is a great little game that will take months of your life away if you're into sandbox type games.

    In production for nearly 10 years and still being developed with several releases per year(as it's not actually out of early access yet). Definitely worth a try!

    Playing this at the moment, and it's really good (and even better with the Nexerelin mod). If anyone wants to play it, the above video has a download link and cd key that you can use. Not sure what the catch is, as it was provided at the developers approval, but it works fine.

    I think i'll actually buy it anyway, as it's easily worth a few quid.

    Tried it out of curiosity last night, four hours later ....


    Definitely seems worth the $15. So far I've just been treating it like the Elite successor I've been looking for for ages, and I haven't gone near the management side of the game.

    Their tactic seems to be working!

    Bought it the next day and have clocked a good for hours getting owned by pirates.

    Have a decent sized fleet with some nice ships, but there's a lot of back and forth when your fleet gets that size. Hard to run it without getting low on supplies all the time. I did hand in an Alpha AI core for 300k, which helped. Might downsize my fleet and just get a good quick exploration fleet going.

    Nexerelin is pretty much an essential mod for anyone playing this.

    Started a new game, with a few other mods, and gradually building up my fleet now. Had a few set backs (like losing 4 Wolf's in my first battle :/), but have some nice salvaged destroyers now and an hold my own against small-mid sized fleets. Still have no idea what sort of weapons i should be fitting, and tend to just autofit my ships. Have a decent amount of money, so now i'm looking for a habitable world to start my first colony. Want it out of the way, as i wouldn't be able to handle any sort of invasion sized fleet for a while yet.

    Stared another new game on this, with even more mods. Loads of new factions and ships, and it makes the game much harder. Struggling to get my solo frigate start going, and have come close to bankruptcy a few times. Have a small damaged fleet running hauling missions at the moment, and salvaging whatever i can when i see things.

    Plan on going the salvage route fill time again, so will get myself a few freighters and tankers, and head for the fringes for those sweet sweet AI cores. Will need to keep my speed up though, as i won't be able to fight anything for the time being.
