Have come to the realization with two children we need two cars.

Second car would be used infrequently I would imagine max once/twice a week. Would be mainly city driving wit

Honda jazz, Yaris, something like these.....

What sort of budget and does size matter.

When looking at carzone there are very few petrol automatics under 10k (not a fixed budget but seems mad to pay more than that for something used so infrequently)

Would a second hand leaf be a good choice? Anyone with any advice? I get the feeling a second car is a bit of a waste for how much it will cost but we can afford it and possibly will make life easier

A Leaf sounds like it would fit your needs ok,but not sure why you need to go through the expense of a 2nd car just because you have 2 children.

I’d go with a 10 year micra if you can get one.

Thanks Niman - think the second car is a bit of a luxury alright but seeing the need to divide and conquer with children as a more frequent exercise and will be easier with a car.

Main car is only used 10k a year mainly city driving with the odd longer spin. So between the two it would only be circa 12k on mileage a year what does seem very unnecessary

Would it be often that your 2 kids would be going in different directions at the same time?

As we all know, between buying, fueling, insuring, taxing, maintaining a car is expensive and it would nearly be cheaper to use taxis if you ever needed a 2nd car sometimes.
