the bike as is was built up by cliff (back in cyclelogical) in may 2009, using a then new frame (carbon forks) and what are now 16 year old components. 105 5500 - 9 speed - and gipiemme wheels.

the bike is in embarrassingly good nick for its age - it was in storage most of its life (for over 10 years) and is only on the second chain, which has about 200km on it. back wheel was rebuilt by humphries a couple of years ago, with plenty of wear left in the rims yet.
frame size is about a 54 - an unscientific measurement produced a stack/reach measurement of 54cm and 39cm. i'm between 5'7 and 5'8, and it's just a tiny bit too big for me, or else i'm getting old and stiff.

some obvious superficial scratches and worming on the RD and shifters.

asking €200. am in dublin 9.

    kitten not included in sale.

I think they were originally attached with mod privileges so only mods can see the ones in the first post.

That is lovely, I’d love it only I couldn’t explain to the missus why I have a need for a 5th bike.

Friend has decided it's not for him. Pity as it's a great buy for someone. GLWS

My first road bike was the campag version of the Ridely Triton very similar to yours, bought off this thread many years back. Excellent bike which got me through many long spins with no issues, now permanently affixed to the turbo and still serving well. Great buy for someone at €200.

Offer asking, subject to inspection (size being about right). If that works we might PM to arrange viewing at mutual convenient location early next week.

In case the OH is looking, it’s for a friend.

this bike is still available - looks like the gearing is probably a little too traditional for slideshow bob.

I need to commute, so sorry for dragging your well kept bike down to this!

Does that look like there are eyelets over the rear dropout to attach a rear rack.

What does "worming on the RD and shifters".

    How good is chain wear.

there's not much clearance for mudguards on the front at all, which i suspect you'd want for commuting. worming is just a lifting of the lacquer coat applied on the shifters, looks a little like worms got under it.
chain is nearly new, a couple of hundred km on it.

to be honest, one of the reasons this bike was replaced was i wanted something more suitable for commuting.

I can use blades.. is there holes over the back axle for mounting a rack..

Why you go posting such nice pictures... Looks good, has eyes.. I notice tyres look a little chunky, which is fine by me.. I run 28c (28inx 1.1) on my commuting road bike, might these be also 28c or would 28c fit..

Why do you think its not suitable for commuting.. I like to travel fast and lite, so it looks good for me.

Where is good to meet, I am in D8, but of course go to where you are.

front is a 23, rear is a 25 (panasonic ribmo, so looks chunky). you will not get a 28 on the front.
as mentioned, there's no clearance inside the fork at the front to run a mudguard through it (and i kinda just wanted an excuse to buy steel bike anyway, partly for the commute)
am in D9, shouldn't be too far away for you? near DCU.

I think I am tending NO, I appreciate all the info and extra pics, which I would have checked on viewing.
The narrow wheels make it a tad unsuitable for me on commuting..

    Good luck with sale.
