Obtaining a New Motor Insurance Quotation Online
Query regarding Occupation status listed as: "Carer Non-Professional" on Liberty Insurance occupation drop-down box.

If someone is effectively a full-time Carer for an elderly family member with serious health issues which would this be deemed as a "Carer Non-Professional"? The person who is Carer no longer qualifies for Carer's Benefit as it was exhausted after 2 Years which passed some time ago. Unfortunately, it is not worth their while claiming for a Carer's Allowance payment as they are well outside the strict means test criteria. The person in question is officially Unemployed so they are only in receipt of future PRSI Credits but has been caring for an elderly parent. Would they qualify as a "Carer Non-Professional" due to such circumstances?
    Please advise

Could it be that a professional carer is more likely to be on the road more, travelling to different clients etc ?

Perhaps this may be the case.
Hopefully someone on behalf of Liberty Insurance can provide an official clarification as this may be open to interpretation.
What assumption is made by Liberty Insurance if the option "Carer Non-Professional" is selected on a motor insurance policy?

    Hi AwaitYourReply

With the information you have provided the occupation should be noted as a carer non professional.

    Hope this helps.

Not sure if representative "Liberty Insurance: Sean" is currently Out of the Office?

I had been dealing with Sean through direct correspondence and I sent him a PM on Wednesday 21/08/2019 at 17:07hrs but I've yet to receive any acknowledgement/reply and it's now 11:45hrs on Friday 23/08/2019.

In the event that Sean is away on extended leave, perhaps another Liberty Insurance representative on duty would follow up if possible to my query?

    Regards,
    AwaitYourReply
