Hi all, The AutoSave Draft feature is now disabled across the site. The decision to disable the feature was made via a poll last year. The delay in putting it in place was due to a bug/update issue. This should serve as a reminder to manually save your drafts if you wish to keep them. Thanks, The Boards Team.

    Hi All,

I have a small business and I want to build a small brochure website.
Black Knight (Irish company) seem to have a very straight forward approach and if what they say is true anyone (including me - little or no website experience) can build a high quality website!
Domain and website platform is around €75+ vat per year which is good.

    https://www.blacknight.com/sitebuilder/

So, has anyone any experience in Black knight? Is building a good business website that simple?

Also, how would a Black Knight website rate with Google? Would the BK platform affect search results?

    Thanks for any input.

    B

Depends what you consider a high-quality website - it's a basic website builder they are offering as part of a package (its called BaseKit Site Builder). It's fine for what it is, for someone wanting to DIY and get something up online it will do the job fine. I would consider it a starter website rather than a high-quality business website but I am in that industry, I have a different opinion of what goes into a high-quality website and the work involved such as planning the layout, the UX, the overall message and converting visitors to customers.

As regards Blacknight, I have used them for years for domains and hosting and have never had any major issues. They are on boards also (see the Talk To section).

I've always been of the opinion that using site builders is the easiest way, especially these days when there are so many options out there. I understand that some companies prefer to work with in-house web developers, but I honestly think just using a site builder is the simpler option. During the lockdown, I got really into yoga and meditation and I decided to open a blog dedicated to this to maybe inspire some other people. Personally, I used https://www.boxmode.com/saas-website-builder and I was extremely impressed by the quality of everything. Also, it was insanely easy to figure out, so it's worth it.
