    I assume this relates to digital sales/ streaming but just out of curiosity, do young artists still press CDs?

    Some do, I think, if they're trying to appeal to older listeners (such as myself). Country and western fans, traditional songs put to syrupy orchestration, classic ballads. Elderly Irish American people in particular lap that ****e up.

    It's a shame that it has been that long since an Irish artist has been no 1 in Ireland, regardless of whether it's a defunct boyband/country artist.

    I’m probably reading this wrong but I thought there were a few Irish bands out now who have had number 1s? The academic I think would be one, Gavin James?

    Gavin James has never charted higher than #28, not sure about the Academic.
