Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the VW letter sent for this recall back in 2017? Unfortunately our dealer kept our letter and now can't find it. I'm asking because now we have a probelm with our ABS and I can see that US letters at the time said VW should replace module if EVER there was an issue afterwards, but I can't remember if letters to irish customers said the same thing. Would love to find the wording on letters sent here. Thanks

They should cover it, if you explain your situation.

We did and they don't want to know. Hence me trying to trace the letter, I'm not certain the letter we got had the same wording as the US ones though :-( But it would be nice to know for sure.

The letter doesn't say it afair. Did you ask them to ask customer care?

The failure of the ABS unit has to display a particular fault code too, to be covered. Other failures of the same unit wont be covered.

Yes been onto customer care. And the fault code we have from the diagnostics is the same one covered on the US letter. It seems nigh on impossible to locate a copy of a letter here though...

    What was the fault code?

16352: control module faulty with 96 shown in the 4th line of the expanded ambient conditions are stored in the ABS control module

I dont remember 100% but in confident that that isn't the code, it was 00131 or something like that.

    It was an and/or

'if faults 01130: abs operation implausible signal with 125 shown in the 4th line AND/OR 16352 control..... etc

    Thanks for your help BTW
