Is it alright to use tap water for the birds or is bottled water better?

tap water is fine.
it's actually better, because still bottled water is one of humanity's more stupid ideas.

Of course tap water is fine. Look at the puddles and other sources birds drink from normally. There is nothing harmful in our tap water.

Thankfully though, my local Health Food shop sells these, aluminium water bottles.

So, they can signal their Green credentials by Not being seen with a Plastic bottle :rolleyes:

I think I may go and throw up, now.

Incidentally, KL; What ever water ye use? Sling it, at least weekly. Still water is a summer breeding ground for mosquito's and rat borne diseases.
