    Hello All,

my car is broken down in West Cork, I am faced witha long haul and some costs to bring it home to Dundalk.. can anyone let me know if there is a recovery service who would pick it up, store it until it suits them, then drop it in Dublin

    Regards

Did you try your insurance company? They towed mine about 100km.

Or would it be worth trying to get it repaired locally? You'd probably get recommendations here if you said the town, etc it was in.

If you have rescue ring them and find out what their policy is. They might bring you all the way home .
If not id be inclined to do what the other poster says and repair locally as it will have to be repaired anyhows

I've used this guy before around Cork to move classic cars...

    Ask him for a quote.

I may be mistaken, but most breakdown companies will only tow to the nearest garage within a certain radius.
My car broke down in City west and they wouldn't tow me to Blessington.

Might be easier and less expensive to try and get repaired locally, surely someone on here can recommend a decent mechanic near to where your car is.

without a doubt i will join the AA. i heard from a friend and verified it on their website ,that even if you are a passenger in another persons car they will get you home

re your suggestion, i feel that would bring me bad luck!!

I brokedown 40 km from home and FBD sorted the breakdown service but when we loaded we negotiated a price for leaving us and the breakdown home.
Everyone likes to have their own mechanic look after their car
