An elderly couple have to replace their solid fuel back boiler Stanley range. As both the couple and their house are aged, they can't take on too much construction. Would a wood pellet stove be a good choice for the future considering all that's going on at the moment about the environment. Advise welcome.

If it is only the boiler that's leaking and the rest of the range is ok it is no big deal to have it replaced by a competent plumber. if you contact Stanley they will advise you of who their agent is in your area

The range has to go, l was wondering if a wood pellet stove would give the same heat, l think it would be easier on them

Wood pellets to organize? Wouldn't they produce ash that has to be disposed of?

Elderly couple + gas/oil sounds the way to go.

if it has to go and you want the same output from the replacement stove the brochure accompanying the one you favour will give you its BTU output which you can then compare against the old range
