Blue Badge Query

Morning folks,

My parents are driving down from the North and staying at my house in Dublin city for a night. My street is pay and display. My mother uses her blue badge in the North as normal.

Am I right that she can park the car ok outside my house and display the blue badge (http://www.dublincity.ie/main-menu-services-roads-and-traffic-parking-dublin/permits-disabled-parking)?

Blue Badge is a European thing and not restricted to the issuing country?

Don't want to have to direct her to a car park or make her have to remember to keep paying the charge every 3 hours.

Yes you can use any European card in Ireland, though there may be slight variations on local requirements (when and where you can park for example) so you would be advised to just read up and see if there are any differences from UK rules https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/travel_and_recreation/traffic_and_parking/disabled_persons_parking_card.html

Whether she can park outside your house depends on the actual road and circumstances.

What council are do you live in and what do their bye-laws say about such permits?

Dublin City Council (Portobello).

I just rang DCC and they confirmed it's fine.
