You are implying some sort of nominative determinism?

    I've never believed in it

Although you have to wonder about the parents. Did it just not occur to them, or they were just very determined to ignore it?

    He is 63.
Back then Dick was just a nickname for Richard, nothing else.

Was it still an American slang word only back in the 50s?

And more importantly, although less funny, one of the richest people in the US by virtue of being one of the billionaire owners (inherited wealth and its almost non-existent taxes - yay!) of Johnson and Johnson so when he talks about the US making post-Brexit deals with Britain, feel free to make a judgement about who is going to get screwed there.

I'm surprised UKIP still exists, to be honest. What's their voter demographic? Open racists? Stubborn elderly people? Anyone who's a Dick Braine? Edge lords like Sargon of Akkad?

Yeah but that's not that funny compared to the new ukip leader

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
