I have seller auction, and I need to cancel, but want to avoid the Final Value Fees, can I do it just once per year... Can find info online about ebay allowing one cancel per year, but nothing on ebay itself

I listed a piece of tech equipment for relative in the UK on ebay. It was my first auction ever. We have some reasonable bids close to asking, but he now says he does not want to sell. I sell like nothing on ebay, just buy some things, I dont mind a small smear on my reputation, but dont want to be 100s out of pocket for an item I listed as a favour.. I know my fault should have been aware of the fees before I started.

AM I allowed one free cancellation per year.. Final Value Fees on this item are couple 100 pounds. There is no way he will understand me owing that. So I need to cancel and avoid the fees.

The best thing to do here would be getting in touch with their billing department. Explain to them that the it is no longer suitable for sale as it has gotten accidentally damaged.

Ebay work of a cost to Ebay. As you mainly purchase items you should have a good account standing. More than likely they will waive the fee. If the agent doesn't ask to speak to their manager who will be able to get this done for you.

Thanks , it went well. I booked a phone call, rang up and honestly stated my case.

Helpdesk operator was very clear in explaining all fees I should be paying. She was also very understanding and always tending to cancel and said she would cancel the large fee.
