Air Miles

I've travelled quite a bit to South America and across Europe, but I don't think I've ever received any air miles for it.

Are air miles still a thing and is there something I can do to backdate to include the previous trips?

As Aer Lingus dropped out of an alliance, can code shares still be claimed?

    Thanks.

Some airlines are good for them. Some like virgin are piss poor. You can generally claim them retrospectively just do it via their website. But if you only flew the odd time and they are not part of a bigger scene like avios it’s not worth your while.

I fly regularly with work and generally get enough to get free flights fir our family holidays. This summer 5 of us have flown return to both Malaga and London for about 200 euro total including a 20kg bag each on each flight.

Unless you were a registered member of their FFP, you wouldn't receive miles.

If you are a member & have retained your boarding cards, there's ususally a window during which you can apply for retrospective credit.

Gold Circle was poor, Aer Club is execrable. Unless you've a hankering for an ulcer, give any interaction with EI cust service a miss. Code shares can still earn you mileage across the various alliances, though do your homework on where you're best crediting it to. Same applies to redeeming mileage earned.
    Thanks.

    As above

Air miles are still a thing.

Lufthansas Miles and More, American's Advantage and Uniteds Mileage Plus have partnerships with dozens of airlines so any miles you gain on say Aer Lingus can be used on Uniteds program.

Usually have six months to credit miles to your account
