Looking at a 2013 one of these at the weekend. Any opinions on them or stuff i should look for. Are they subject to the timing chain issues that you hear off. About 80k miles on her.

    Any info appreciated.

I had a 2013 f11 525d for 2 years. Great car and gave me no issues. Nice power difference over the standard 520d (218bhp compared to 186bhp) and economy is still pretty decent. I was getting mid 40's which isn't any worse than the 520d.

The timing chain is still an issue but much rarer than pre 2011. Just remember it's the N47 engine but with twin turbo. Mileage is quiet low for the year. Make sure it has a full service history with regular oil changes, the best preventative measure for timing chain issues. Also, make sure it's had the recall done on the EGR module which can cause fire.

Other than that you should hope it has xenon headlights which were not standard on the f10 until the facelift in 2014. The halogen lights are pretty ****e. Wide screen sat nav is a must for me too. The narrow infotainment screen lets the interior down big time.

Is it M sport? Saloon or touring?
