    Are they really bad?
Hoping a dentist might shed some light if they can.

    Cheers.

depends on what you understanding is of that a "mini" implant is? When it come to dental treatment its is really who does the job that matters rather than the job itself. If your dentist has recommended mini implants then they must be confident they will work. If you are confident in them then your onto a winner. If you just plucked this off the internet then its a totally treatment that you have decided you like the sound of.

    Thanks. The dentist reccomended them.
However I have read here mainly on a few occasions that they are not very successful.

I also read a post of yours where you said mini implants are generally a waste as they have poor success rates both long and short term.

    Has your opinion changed?

Do you trust the dentist who said this to you or not? I dont have to do the job so my opinion in your case is irrelevant, maybe this dentist can get mini implants to work, maybe they were talking about narrow implants, or short implants which are totally different things.

To be honest here Smile111 your posting a load of questions that are second guessing dental opinions you have gotten. As much as everyone is an expert on everything these days, patients are not capable to understand the pros and cons of treatment, or the experiance to know what situation certain treatment will work in. Your going to fill you brain with Dr. Google advice and any dentist with any experiance will avoid treating you like the plague.

Dentistry is very technical, and variable depending on operator. From a patient point of view its about trust. Do you trust this dentist to achieve the result they promise you. Do they explain things well enough that you dont have to ask questions on the internet, do they talk about risks and maintenance. If you dont trust them then all is lost. I can have an opinion on a treatment in general, but in your specific case nobody except a dentist who has talked to you and examined you can make a call as to what is best.
