While looking at the trailer for Stumptown, I found this trailer.
I think it will live or die on its first few episodes - there needs to be momentum or people will get bored.

    Potential..
    - The cop from Fargo.
    - The writers from Agent Carter.
    - Clancy Brown
    - The director had two of the Cottonmouth episodes of Luke Cage.

The kid is from billions which I don't know but it has good reviews right?

The show trailer has it feeling a bit like Taken.

I kinda feel it is similar to The Passage

That was a great pilot episode.

So.. that bit at the end.. had me guessing along the lines of AI / Stranger Things / Minority Report

Enjoyed that a lot. Good cast too, and the sheriff is very likeable.

Piper knows a lot more than she is letting on.

The second one maintained the pace. Very good!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Yes episode 2 kept up the pace set in the first episode i can see it slowing down a bit now.

2: Agree! That was good and it paced well. Pretty sure the young cop helping her was wearing a Captain American t-shirt! :)

Allison Tolman really doing great in this role.

    Robot guard dogs :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

They look like the real Boston Dynamics dogs!

Red lights and everything! Felt almost like baby skynet!

    Those dogs were great!

Good revelation too. They could have held that back for half a season, so respect to them for revealing it so early.

4: That felt like it dragged a bit in places. Felt like necessary steps to keep the story grounded though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

5: It's wierd. For a show that feels generally lightweight, it sure does hit some deep places and know how to switch over to darkness when it wants.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,618 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I think they've kept the momentum up. The story is great.

Enjoying this. Allison Tolman is great as usual.

Well now the old switcheroo at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

That got me sooo bad! Jaw legit droppage!

This show is really good in a way I'm not fully understanding just yet. It must be the acting or story or something.

    1.7: WTF!

Right, I don't know where the show is going now. Maybe a smaller scale showdown

I think i remember hearing a train...no, that must have been a ferry...

It was at that moment i decided that was that, what a load of sh1te.

There were definitely bits of 1.7 I missed.. almost 5 minutes I'd guess...
I'm not sure what all of them were but I've watched one of the bigger scenes I missed out on.

1.8: WTF again! Alright so not scaling down the show. Maybe just putting Auger Industries in it's place next to this new group.

Cool to see Enver Gjokaj (Sousa in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. / Victor in Dollhouse) again

Wasn't he in Agent Carter not Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ?

Ah then he must be in the final season. Not going to say how it's possible just in case people have not watched the previous season yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Well Damm that was some mid season cliffhanger to end on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

1.9: W.T.F! I did not see that coming! I mean..
yer wan maybe, but not yer man

I'll give the show this much.. it's got form..

Also noticed the music was working really well to build up the feelings in the episode. The two credits for the music have done a lot of work in the DC Arrowverse:
    Daniel James Chan - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3280099/
    Blake Neely - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0624201/

    1.10: Some
Neo from The Matrix vibes going on with Piper there
Possibly about to introduce a bigger plot arc for the show I'm guessing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Damm this show really does know how to do an ending to an episode to bring you back the next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

    1.11: What gives with this
new bunch of people? Looks like yer wan is in control. Now they got guns and are taking out an FBI agent?

Anyone else feel a small Terminator 2 vibe
    as they entered 'ISODYNE'?
    :) (in T2 it was
    'Cyberdyne'
    )
So cos of that, it opens the possibility that this could be
time travel related but could it alternatively be Alien related..
could be a big mix of a few things
Damm this show really does know how to do an ending to an episode to bring you back the next week.

    Yes it does!

Also one question from the episode:

1.12: At first I was like.. Oh look, Helen's got
like a combo T-1000, T-3000, Cyborg type power.
Then they had to get creepy
at the end! I assume it's a bunch of nanobots making the noise.

The nanites reminded me of the replicators in SG1

So that was the season finale. Not sure if it's getting renewed. Overall: Decent new scifi that did a fair amount with what seemed like a lowish budget. Would give a second season a watch.

    1.13: It's confusing
how they structured this episode. The fight with Helen felt like it really ended abruptly there in the middle but then they did build up the mystery of these new baddie-looking government types.
    I'm stuck trying to guess
what could be up with them unless they are some kind of secret government agency building weapon-bots or something.

Can anyone explain why Owain Yeoman, a Welsh actor playing a Welsh character, sounds like he's Australian? (He plays Benny.)
