    I remember that, I was happy just to be able to hear it.

    The launch of Century was a damp squip a few years earlier for many of us, as they hadn't organised proper national broadcast coverage.

    Phil 'Philip' Cawley might be the last man standing from that launch.

    Phil Cawley is the last presenter left from the original lineup of Radio Ireland. Since the departure of sportscaster Paul Collins, Phil Cawley is the only remaining voice from the Radio Ireland era (March 17th 1997 - January 1998).

    I read somewhere before that Ed Smith has been with Today FM since 1998 (though possibly behind the scenes, as I first heard of him on air around 7 years ago)... is this true?
