Kia Ceed wheel noise

My Kia Ceed (2016, ~24,000KMs) has started making this sort of rubbing like sound coming from the front drivers side wheel.

It is intermittent, and sometimes worse than others. It sounds like metal on metal almost, or something hard (doesn't sound like the tyre). I haven't been able to figure out what the conditions are that make it worse.

It's like a heartbeat rather than a constant noise, like clunk clunk clunk that gets faster as you speed up, and slower when you're slower. It's not super loud either, but loud enough to hear it if you turn the radio off.

It's not just when you hit the brake.

The car is otherwise driving absolutely fine. Haven't noticed any pulling to the side or anything. Car is serviced on schedule etc, was only serviced a few weeks ago actually.

Anyone any ideas what could be causing this?

Jack the wheel up and see if theres any movement when you push and pull it about.
Probably a track rod or bushing if theres a metal noise. Nothing major.

Might be a pebble stuck between brake pad and disk

Driveshafts and hubs/wheel bearings are common failures.
