Tumble dryer won’t turn off

My Miele condenser dryer is staying on drying for an extender period lately. I’ve cleaned the lint filter inside the door and the bottom filter to no avail. The dryer operates about for twice as long as normal. The dryer is about 5 years old. Any thoughts?

Have you checked that somebody hasn't changed the heat settings (cottons/delicates} if it is doing the job but taking twice as long it would suggest that one element is open circuit or switched off
