Bit of a problem folks. Maybe someone can help.

Up to a few minutes ago I was watching something in the kitchen when the picture froze all pixelated. I went up a channel and there's just a blue screen with the message,

"There is a technical fault with this channel. Please try later"

The EPG is working pefrectly and I have a high signal rating. S/Q 92 and 82 %

Is the box shagged or are Sky after doing something to cut the old boxes off?

It's an out of contract Grundig box that I got 2nd hand 10 years ago so it's no big deal.

I've an Enigma2 box in the living room running off the same dish and it's working fine

Is your signal strength and quality reasonably high? What was the weather like at the time?

Very much doubt if the update is running after 13 years.

To the OP. Try power recycling the box first.

Sky are not trying to cut off old boxes. Why would they?

    Thanks folks.

Just home now and it's fine again. We'd very heavy rain for the last 2 days but it was dry at that time last night. Maybe it was just a glitch. I've another one to take its place if it's goosed.

Check input 1 and 2 at the back of the box. Sometimes rain will get in through the cables and cause this type of behavior.
