Outlander PHEV value?

I’m considering changing my Outlander PHEV for a Mercedes C350e but the numbers have to work and selling my own privately and importing the Mercedes from the UK would be best financially.

What is a reasonable sale price to expect for this:

    151 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV GX4H
    Metallic Grey
    35k miles
    Full main dealer service history
    Brand new premium tyres
    Recent service
    NCT to Feb 2021
    Manufacturers warranty until Feb 2020

Not easy or quick to sell privately I’d imagine but I’ve sold many cars privately before from €400 to €25k and know I’ll have to price it substantially less than a main dealer price. They seem to range from €23k to €25k in main dealers so is it realistic to expect to get around €20k privately? It does have the advantage of still having 6 months manufacturers warranty left, so easier to sell it now than next year.

    That warranty is transferable yeah?

What warranty do the €23k-€25k ones the dealers are selling come with? 1 year? 6 months? There might not be much difference between them.
I've no experience of the outlander, or what they sell for, but if warranties are similar, 3-5k of savings by buying private sounds a bargain.

I just googled "151 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV GX4H" and found one sold for under 18k by a dealer. Others for sale are all under €20k. Which of us has got something wrong?

The linked one has 90k miles compared to 35k on mine. Once over 60k they are outside the original Mitsubishi warranty. I can’t find one with under 50k miles for less than 23k from non-franchised dealers, more from Mitsubishi dealers. Others under €20k are all either high mileage or the lower spec GX3H model. I think!

His is the higher spec GX4H model. They seem to be going at dealers from €20k (sticker price), the GX3H from about €15k

Private sale you can deduct say 15% from that

Personally I'd take a GX3H if that saved me 25% in the purchase price, but some people are willing to pay for the extras.

Edit - you beat me to it. I didn't realise only low mileage cars had the 5 year warranty. That will definitely work in your favour.

If it was me buying your car, I would be looking at U.K prices, then add VRT and cost of delivery to here.

Not every one is going to the U,K to buy, but if the car was here at near enough U.K prices why bother,

Not easy selling an expensive car privately, I sold my last car for 14500 euro on done deal priced it same as what a U.K one would cost, a Dublin car dealer had it sold before he even collected it, I found it a nerve wrecking experience, but I was happy, lost only 500 euro on it after 2 years of ownership,

Please let us know how you got on.

    Thanks.

Here’s one for sale for €14,500.

I appreciate the mileage is a lot more than yours, but they’ll probably give a 6 month warranty too so that balances out your warranty.
I’d imagine they’d take €14k all day, so is your lower mileage worth €6k to average Joe Soap?

There are loads in the UK from 16-18k GBP at that model, age and mileage.

Add VRT and you're at 19k EUR , plus shipping and hassle.

So I'd start at 20k and drop the price until it sells.

Being any kind of hybrid/EV you will be dealing with tightwads.

    Careful now :D

You are of course correct though.

All good points from everyone, I looked at some similar cars with higher mileage when buying mine and opted for a low mileage one on the basis that the usual wear and tear items were much "younger" and that any 3rd party warranty offered by a non-franchised dealer didn't cover any of the EV components or battery, so the manufacturer's warranty was important. All 3rd party warranties I was offered went as far as either listing what was covered (which never included EV bits and bobs) or specifically excluding EV specifics, even from large dealerships like Charles Hurst etc. Maybe this has since changed and I hope it does but on last checking the 3rd party warranties were still focused on ICE cars.

Pricing it similarly to importing one from the UK seems very sensible, it's really what I was looking at when buying mine so why wouldn't others. It appears I'm one of Lumen's tightwads ;)

Being a tightwad who is selling to a prospective tightwad, you will have to use some sort of reverse psychology, e.g you cannot have this car, you will save too much money with it.

Any log of trips with low petrol use, would help.

Anyone here with experience of the BMW 330e?

I thinking of changing my IS300h for one. I have less than 10km to travel to work so I should be able to get to and from on battery alone.

All welcome to chip your views in.

If the query is for me, then no, not yet. I'll pop an ad up on Carzone tomorrow maybe and see what happens.
