Family of four with two kids 4 and 7. We're not great sun holiday people and with kids we often find the day quite long so we're looking to book a self catering accommodation and hire a car so we can have one activity each day in addition to the usual pool/beach relaxation. We've been to both alicante and Valencia (without kids) and would really love to bring kids to the aquarium in Valencia. No idea where would be nice to base ourselves though. Don't really know the coastline well. We'd like to be close to beach (can drive though) and have a nice little town a walk away for each evening. After that we don't mind any ideas?
Also, any recommendations of websites to book private accommodation?
