I'm thinking of getting one of these. Our 2.5l petrol Outback has seen better days and is expensive to run. Needs a new exhaust so thinking of moving on.

The 450h ticks all the boxes in theory, but I would love to hear from owners about realistic running costs. I have seen figures from mid 20's to mid 40's mpg reported (official figures at the high end of the scale of course), and it seems to be a case of how heavy is your foot!

Servicing seems to be reasonable, about €380 for an annual service with a dealer, independents could be a better choice.

I have driven one yesterday and I do like the experience.

Budget is up to about €17k, and I can get good value in the UK at the moment.

Any hints and tips from owners?

    Thanks!
