    No one said they were. However very few people on the dole own their own house.

    You’re aware that families on very low incomes qualify for social housing and are more likely to be given social housing due to their financials?

    For the majority of claimants there’s no such thing as the “dole” for life. Jobseeker’s Allowance is means tested payment and cut and/or suspended if you don’t actively seek work. The scumbag types who appear to stay long term on it are unemployable due to addiction, criminal records, learning difficulties etc and you wouldn’t trust them to pick up dog shîte.

    Lone parent on the other hand is easily exploited.

    Given that the number of people who have been 'on the dole all their life' is so miniscule, I think it'd be a rare find, I might interview them for a book or something. I assume you mean people who are poor and on the dole? not Dennis O'Brien or Ivana Bacik for example?
