to send a nominal 20000 stg to NI bank ac

Ulster bank ROI cost e21296 online

    Transfer wise cost
    e21,933.66

    Currency fair 21939.78

Strange that Transfer wise and more Currency fair more expensive ?

Transfers are both the same "urgency" 2 - 4 business days)

I would check out Revolut. I'd say it will be cheaper than those two. Payment much quicker than "2-4 business days" too.

    Thanks Will do
    Revolut,

an update , on Uls bank being cheaper
I rang back, to double check, they are not cheaper

infact ULS about 480 Euro more expensive than TferWise / Currency fair, for a nominal 20000 stg transfer

Ah, that's better. Banks are normally terrible value.

I used to use HiFx in the UK to transfer up to 100k/mo, their rates were better than TransferWise, but now they've done some kind of weird tie up with XE and I can't even register an account, but worth trying.

I always use OFX, €21,774 in this example

I was very surprised by the first post in that currency fair was more expensive than a bank. We used CF when transferring our house purchase deposit to GBP. Revolut was better than any bank rate but a decent bit more than CF given the amount involved. For everyday small amounts Revolut is a no-brainer

I’ve used Transfermate 3 times in the last year to buy cars from the UK.

I've used it multiple times and the transfers are usually 1 business day

That's significantly better than all others mentioned. I just checked transfermate and they would be €21,850

At Revolut you get the interbank rate though, with zero markup. It's not possible to get it cheaper than that. Only weekdays though!
