    Hi,

I live on the border, we can pick up the main BBC radio stations on an FM radio. If I bought a DAB radio from the UK, would I be able to pick up the UK DAB stations?

you'd have to be more specific than that about your location for anyone to advise about reception in your general locality as there is about 500km of border!

In general UK DAB is going to have significantly less coverage than BBC FM into the republic.

Sorry, we're in Faughart in Louth. About 5 minutes drive south of Jonesborough.

OFCOM have published a coverage map, link below. There would appear to be poor DAB coverage in west Fermanagh, the east Antrim coast and the SE corner of Co. Down so I wouldn't hold out much hope that you'll get a decent signal in north Co. Louth.

But if you're at an elevated spot, you might get a signal from the Camlough transmitter, it's marked on the maps as a '+' symbol beside Newry.

See the map at the top of p.7 for indoor coverage in normal conditions....

Thats interesting, thank you. Looking at that green map, we would actually be just near one of the green areas and we are elevated too so might give it a go.

Edit - Might actually go for one of the Internet and DAB radios, so at least if I can;t get the DAB stations I'd like then I'll still have the internet radio option for other stations.

Faughart - difficult, unless you are literally on Faughart hill - The BBC stuff from Camlough drops out before Ballymac - Hit and miss on Dundalk bypass with perfecrt LOS. Ive drive tested it and yes - you can receive it between the graveyard and T junction on the shrine road

Fortunately we are on the hill. And is that DAB specifically you're talking about? Cos we get the regular fm, but it's not quite as crystal clear as I'd like it to be.

    That doesn't sound promising.

Perhaps I'll borrow one first and try it, before spending any money, thanks again.

May I suggest three options in order of price . . .

    1/ ReVo Superconnect.
    2/ Roberts Stream 93i - 94i.
    3/ Majority Peterhouse Graduate.
